Our membership includes a wide variety of professionals who specialise in spine treatment, care and research.
They come from a range of disciplines including Anaesthesiology, Anatomy, Biomechanical Engineering, Neurosurgery, Orthopaedic Surgery, Pain Management, Pathology, Physiotherapy, Radiology and Rehabilitation Medicine.
TYPES OF MEMBERSHIP
To join, you must demonstrate a major clinical or research interest in the spine.

Active Membership
The applicant must be a Full Member or Fellow of his/her respective Specialist Professional Association or like bodies in Australia or New Zealand.

Associate Membership
The applicant is not a Full Member or Fellow of his/her respective Specialist Professional Association or like bodies in Australia or New Zealand.
MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS
Members are required to:

Attend an Annual Scientific Meeting at least once every three years.

Have a scientific paper presented or accepted for presentation at least once every five years or that some other major contribution is made to the SSA in a five year period.
HOW TO JOIN

Provide a suitable Curriculum Vitae.

Provide written letters of support from three referees, two of whom are active members of the Society.

Applications are considered by a membership committee and voted upon at the Annual General Meeting.
